LGV Training
Specialized Driving Force offer training for LGV C (up to 32ton) and LGV C+E (articulated vehicle) categories.
Before your LGV training can commence you will need to pass a Medical Examination and obtain a Provisional Driving Licence. You can download the medical form, D4, which you will need to take to your doctor, from this link www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/forms/d4.pdf. An information leaflet regarding your medical is also available from www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/inf4d.pdf.

Send your completed D4 and D2 forms to: Vocational Team, D.V.L.A., Swansea, SA99 1AR.
When you have received your provisional licence, contact us and we can arrange an Assessment Drive to determine the minimum number of days training you will require. The drive will last for approximately 1-2 hours and cost £60.00 + VAT.
Before you start the course you will also need to pass your Theory Test. You will need to purchase two books - 'The Official Theory Test for Drivers of Large Vehicles' and 'Driving Goods Vehicles'; they are published by the D.S.A. and can be obtained from any good stationers. On passing your theory test please forward a copy of your pass certificate to us, we will then book your practical training and practical test.
B+E (car & Trailer)
If you obtained your car licence after January 1997 you will need to pass a B+E test to entitle you to drive a car and trailer over 750kilos. You do not need to take a medical or theory test for this category, but you will need to book an assessment drive with us to determine how much training you will need before you take your test.

When local eventer, Penny Sangster wanted to take her LGV test she contacted SDF.
"Specialized Driving Force Ltd is a brilliant company to train with and I can fully recommend them to anyone wanting to take their LGV. Their highly qualified and patient instructors helped me to pass my LGV C test first time."
Andy Reohorn wanted to gain a professional qualification to drive LGV C+E lorries, he achieved this goal with SDF:
"My training at SDF was both professional and friendly. Instruction is relaxed but comprehensive and you are never left in any doubt that you are learning to be in control of a vehicle that demands commitment and a fair degree of responsibility to drive safely on the roads of Britain. Additionally, SDF provide a modern and realistically large vehicle for both the C and the C+E courses to ensure that real world driving experience is gained in the largest of vehicles.
Little beats the view from that cockpit on high, the challenge of a demanding route leaving you with an immense feeling of satisfaction and pride at its successful conclusion. Sat there with your instructor you really do feel 'King of the Road'. I really enjoyed my training and left with a warm glow from my C+E test thanks to SDF, even in the pouring rain I managed a clean sweep in my C+E artic test. Thanks guys!"
